Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten students at Prairie Valley Elementary studied prehistoric cave paintings called "Black Bull. They were created by an unknown artist and are thousands of years old. The students studied a few of the drawings, discussed how they were made, and wondered who made them and why. They decided there might of been more than one artist and that they painted them to make the cave pretty on a rainy day.
The students then created their own cave paintings using crumpled paper sacks, charcoal and chalk pastels and then covered one wall of the art room with their creations. I have included a couple examples of the original cave art but make sure you really enjoy the cave art interpertitations that the 5 and 6 year old artist created...I know I enjoy them more!!!!
